I know it’s hot, but it’s also Thursday. Thursday’s the day you can sip lemonade whilst lounging in your lawn chair, listening to music in the ‘out of doors.’ Yep, just a reminder that several of our municipalities have outdoor concert events tonight and every Thursday during the summer. Classic cruisers, too, are drawn to some of these events.
Snapped these pics a couple of weeks ago at the Lapeer Thursday evening concert – the kids were hula hooping in time to the music. There was a pretty good crowd there enjoying the tunes. And there was a lone classic parked along Nepessing that night.
Notes are likely to be floating on the breeze tonight in Almont – where it looks like it’s going to be Phil & Marsha Larson (variety music), Lapeer with the Lapeer Civic Orchestra, & Metamora with Duffy Connelly. Imlay City tunes are on Tuesdays, but you already knew that.
Oh, and tomorrow is 4th Friday – acoustic fun at Hartwig Community Park in Hadley.
I don’t know if you caught the Lapeer “Concert in the Park” on June 25 where notes were certainly “floating”! I never thought I’d perform “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” under a rainbow, but the Lapeer Civic Orchestra did just such a thing that night!
The “show must go on” as they say, but next time I thing a “lightning delay” would have been wise. I saw the hail stones falling between my notes.
